Houston Sunset

I took this picture from my hotel room window. It's one of the most gorgeous sunsets I've ever seen, over a lake in Houston (Clear Lake?), in September 2005.

This Heron seemed to say, "If you're quiet and don't scare away my dinner, I'll pose for you."

This is one of my favorite photos. I took it early in the morning (o.k., 6 a.m.), and the dew was still on the daisy. The bee seemed to be sleeping and stayed posed while I took several shots.

"And for my next trick..."

"Well, I'll just try a little taste, if you don't mind."

"Hi there," said the young black bear, "Do you mind if I empty your birdfeeder? By the way, you have a lovely backyard."

I love this photo of Jack. He was waiting to see if his daddy was going to come through the gate.
