Just for Fun!

My brother's girlfriend's dogs are incredibly cute. I found out the other day that Lacey here likes to pose for the camera. She was a wonderful photo shoot subject!

Faith

OK, this is a stretch... but I did have to have a lot of faith that after about 2 hours of waiting, I would even get to snap a photo of one of the bullfrogs that live near the creek at my brother's house. They are very shy and if they even hear you coming they're gone! Since I hadn't seen them before, I wasn't sure what I was looking for. And then, finally, I snuck up again for the last time and here was this gargantuan-sized frog resting in the water with only his head surfaced! This guy was about 10-12 inches in length, just look at those back webbed feet! He stayed for three shots before he submerged and swam away.

Sun

Oh, how I love the sun! More photos I snapped while we were driving around Mt. Rainier last Saturday. The sun was out, it was a beautiful day! Of the last three shots here that look similar, please tell me which one looks best and why - thanks!

Fun on Mt. Rainier

Bruce and I hosted a group of Saturn Sky and Pontiac Solstice owners on a drive around Mt. Rainier last Saturday. It was a 12-hour day in all, and we had a great time! Made new friends, and saw a couple we had gone to the drive-in movie with (Transformers). The photos from top to bottom: 1. One of the curvy roads we had fun on, notice the sign on the right warns of the hairpin coming up; 2. a photo from last month of the three Solstice owners and us (Sky owner) at a drive-in in Everett to see the movie "Transformers" - the transformer known as Jazz is a Solstice in the movie; 3. I was busy snapping photos through the rearview mirror as Bruce was driving; 4. one of our stops along the way. There were seven cars to start out the drive around the mountain, and we picked up an eighth car along the way. All in all there were two Solstices and six Skys.

Favorite Photo so far this year...

I thought it was a little unusual to see a quail in our backyard about a month ago. I spooked him and he flew up to the dead tree just beyond our fence.

Celebration

Bruce and I finally got the car we ordered July last year. We waited a whole year and picked it up on .... yes.... the 4th of July!!! That was our fireworks celebration!

More Depth

Bruce and I went on a road trip in our new car around Mt. Rainier last Friday. What a beautiful day!

Symmetry

I figured the Bellagio was pretty symmetric, and just plain pretty! I was in Vegas at a workshop last week and went to the Strip for my first time. I really enjoyed looking at the Bellagio and shopping at the 4 floors of the M&M shop! Who wouldn't?!

Depth

I want to try some more photos, but couldn't resist trying to catch the depth of the woods behind our home. I always wonder what might be looking back at me!

OK, I'm stretching it here. I took a photo, "flipped" it to B&W, then to Sepia, then back to color.

B&W Moody

I'm having a hard time finding or even taking a photo that would depict "moody"... but here goes.

Time Gone By #2 and #3

Our cat Timmy (15 years old) was able to lay outside in the sun yesterday for the first time since we moved here 3 1/2 years ago. Needless to say, he loved it and Jack loved having him in the backyard with him. In the first photo, Timmy seems to be saying to the birds flying overhead, "There once was a time I could chase you." The second photo is of Jack "herding" Timmy back into the house, as if to say, "Time's up. We gotta go inside now."

Time Gone By...

I took a photo of a photo. The photographer at Bruno's in Tacoma took this beautiful photo of Eric for his senior pictures. The background photo is his kindergarten photo. Every time I look at this it brings tears to my eyes.

Silhouette

I'm not so sure this can really count as a silhouette, but I love this photo of Bruce using his headlamp to read a magazine when the electricity was out for several days this winter.

What I've Missed Posting So Far...

This is my Lines photo. This was taken on that same wild April evening with all the clouds in the sky. I liked how the lines of clouds looked through the lines of trees. Though I didn't edit this photo, I'm not sure why some of the smaller tree branches in the front of the photo look purple.

This photo is my "Art" photo. I would love to do an oil or acrylic painting of this photo. This was taken from the backyard on that wild April evening when we seemed to have every type and color of cloud in the sky all at once. Can you see the big bird flying across the sky on the right?

Spring Flowers. This is the first year we noticed there's a wild Dogwood tree growing in the gulley just beyond our backyard fence. I took this photo in the evening, and I liked the effect the dusk light gave the flowers. I did have to brighten the photo a tad bit.

Movement. How fast those little wings can go!

This photo is my interpretation of Leading. I saw our resident rabbit has returned, which means to me that he has lead us into Spring.

This one is my New Beginning photo. Our grandbaby is due in September, as you may tell that my daughter-in-law is pregnant in this photo. It represents new beginnings or first-timers for my oldest son and my daughter-in-law (first-time parents), my youngest son (first-time uncle), Bruce and me (first-time grandparents). This is my daughter-in-law Allie, pregnant with the "new beginning", and my son Chris who is holding our newest great nephew.
